Approaching the end of the BNSF Railway's Akron Sub is eastbound freight H-DENLIN1-12A. This 70-car freight originated in Denver, Colorado, and is heading for Lincoln, Nebraska, behind BNSF ES44DC 7918 and a trio of Dash 9-44CWs (4068, 4015 and 1103). In a few minutes, the train will stop in McCook and change crews, and also time zones (trading Mountain Time for Central Time, even though it crossed the real border of these time zones about 50 miles ago, but on the railroads the time zones change at division points). McCook is also where the Akron Sub changes to the Hastings Sub. (McCook, Nebraska – July 13, 2024)
