Southbound coal train T482 passes through Spruce Pine, NC as they prepare to meet northbound empty coal train E315 at Toe River siding. T482 is a rather infrequent coal train running between Typo, KY and Haile, FL (just outside of Newberry, FL). The coal is destined for a cement plant, which in 2024 is Argos Cement, where it will be used in the cement manufacturing process.
