This commuter train will head along the carrier's Bergen County Line to Suffern NY. Leading this afternoon's train is NJTR GP40P 4101, one of the system's Heritage locomotives – in this case, wearing the paint scheme of predecessor New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). NJTR GP40P 4101 was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in October 1968 as Central Railroad of New Jersey 3672, later becoming Conrail 4101 in the 1976 merger that created that railroad. In 1983, this locomotive (along with all the other CR locomotives that NJDOT had been using under contract).
