BNSF Railway Yard Job Y-BAK2071-08G switches cars in the Bakersfield Yard. BNSF Dash 8-40BW 533, seen on the eastern end of the yard, is the former Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 533, purchased for the Santa Fe’s hot intermodal trains in 1990. Thirty-four years later, it has been relegated to yard service. How times have changed…. (Bakersfield, California – September 10, 2024)
