Newly restored 470 Railroad Club Boston & Maine GP9 1741 is leading the 470 Club Excursion on the Conway Scenic Railroad's former B&M Conway Branch, home rails for this engine. Despite a forecast of full sun, big, dark clouds hung in for most of the morning. I really wanted this shot with full sun, but it was not meant to be. The 470 Club did a fantastic job restoring this engine and it is great to see a genuine Bluebird roaming the rails in 2024.
Beautiful mountain scenery has made this small state a draw for rail buffs to ride the Mount Washington Cog Railway and the Conway Scenic, among others.
