It is little known that for the railroad line in Mauritania from the port of Nouadhibou to the ore mining area near Zouérate, which was built between 1960 and 1963, in addition to the large CC mainline locomotives from Alsthom, 12 four-axle diesel locomotives were also built and supplied for shunting purposes.
