| I caught up with this westbound Union Pacific coal load right at Soldier Summit and then followed it down the 2% grade on the west side of the pass to Gilluly siding. It was sunny at the summit, but snowing and stormy at Gilluly. I took this shot from a highway pull off using a 70-200mm telephoto lens at 200mm as the train entered the lower 180 degree reversing loop. It was a very cold 4 days before Christmas in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. |
