Remarks & Notes

A pair of GP40X's sit in West Colton Yard. These locomotives were built in February of 1978. Only four units were delivered to the SP. Two were Locotrol masters and the other two were Locotrol slaves. They were delivered with elephant ears over the radiator intakes but were removed in 1981.
