Since 1982, the "crocodile" Be 6/8 II # 13254 of SBB Historic, sister locomotive of Be 6/8 II # 14253 in Erstfeld, was exhibited in the Swiss Museum of Transport (VHS) in Lucerne. Some days ago, the locomotive was brought to Brugg AG, where it will be made operational again by members of the steam group Zürich (VDZ). The locomotive, built in 1919 by SLM and MFO for the Gotthard line, traveled to Lucerne under its own power in 1982, as it had previously been overhauled and revised in several parts. A thorough cleaning of the exterior and electrical contacts should therefore be sufficient for the locomotive to be allowed back on the line. It is to temporarily replace the brown “crocodile” Be 6/8 II # 14253 from Erstfeld, which needs a chassis overhaul.
