| The CN had trackage rights over the CP to the Valero plant near Floyd, IA, when it was built years ago but never bothered for the business. Renewed interest in Iowa and business got Valero to sign a new contract and put in a connection at Charles City. Now the Cedar River crews work this plant via 6 miles of CPKC Mason City Sub trackage. Here the job is about to cross the home rail of the Osage Sub at Charles City as they head west towards the plant. Somehow 3 EJE units ended up in Iowa, and somehow the 2 orange ones ended up on this job for 2 round trips. It's been a long time since a pair has been on the mainline in Iowa! |
