Making the 129 mile (207.6 km) trip from Los Angeles to San Diego is BNSF Officer Special O-LACSDG2-30. Running over 15 hours behind schedule, BNSF Officer Train O-TOPLAC8-26A is now within 40 miles of its destination, Los Angeles. This train is powered by ES44C4 8173, and consists of 10 BNSF business cars. This special loaded passengers in both Fullerton and San Juan Capistrano, and will return to LA later in the afternoon. The next day, on May 1, this train will operate a trip to Barstow and back. It was a gloomy morning along the Pacific Coast until just before this train arrived, and then the sun began to burn the coastal cloud cover away. (Del Mar, California – April 30, 2025)
