| Crossing the Cal Cable.
The gripman has fully released the grasp on the Powell Street cable as San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni) cable car 20 coasts across the tracks of the California Street line. The "Cal Cable" is superior to and thus is above the Powell cable here, requiring all Powell cars to drop their cable and grab it again on the other side of the crossing. Car 20 was built by Carter Bros. in 1893, and is painted in standard Powell car livery. |
