| Blue Budds.
Metro-North Railroad M3A no. 8041 is the lead unit on Hudson Line train 4744, seen departing Irvington Station. The M3A cars were built by Budd starting in 1984, and are nearing the end of their service lives after more than 40 years of operation. Their numbers have dwindled enough that they are only seen in revenue service on weekdays, when peak demand cannot be met with other car classes alone. |
