Heading east, which is uphill here, is an Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Freight train, with (nearly) eight-year-old SD45-2 5678 on the headend. In about 5 miles, this train will traverse the famed Tehachapi Loop and cross over itself as it climbs out of the San Joaquin Valley and into the Mojave Desert.
