The clouds, which were rolling in from the north and east, gave me a break just long enough to capture the daily Waterloo - Chicago Merchandise Train passing through Lena.
Ethanol loads for Albany, NY via CSXT at Chicago, IL, rolls east thru Lena as they make their way towards Chicago, IL. This train was loaded at Tara, IA which is west of Ft Dodge, IA.
This old caboose is sitting at the Lena Historical Society just a few blocks away from the old IC/ICG Freeport - Dubuque mainline. Today the CN owns this stretch of railroad.
WC 7502 departs Lena after meeting WC 7524 and 7506 on M337. The train is just clearing the siding, passing the town signs and co-op, and a little Christmas decor along the tracks.
