Everett Railroad's 2-6-0 "Mogul" No. 11 travels southbound over the Halter Creek trestle in East Freedom, PA toward the company yard at Claysburg where the locomotive is stored. While this portion of the line sees No. 11 in deadhead moves to Hollidaysburg, it rarely sees passenger excursions. The scene above was captured during a 2-day charter sponsored by Lerro Productions.
The trestle is just south of the railroad's terminus for its shorter tourist train excursions while the railroad's extended trips branch off just shy of the shorter trip's terminus and head, also southbound, to Roaring Springs.
Incidentally, the "original" Everett No. 11, a 2-6-2 "Prairie" which operated further south on a now abandoned ROW between 1965 and 1971 is currently on display in the actual town of Everett next to the relocated depot seen here.
